CLASS LEVELS
Level 1: Beginners Welcome. No experience needed. Experienced practitioners who want a basic class are also welcome. The Level 1 classes are a perfect follow-up to the ABC class or – if the ABC schedule does not fit your schedule – you can jump right into this class. The focus is on fundamental poses. Principles of alignment and skillful movement patterns are presented and students are introduced to yoga breathing techniques. Build a strong foundation in Yoga, and cultivate strength, flexibility, and stamina in your body while you fall in love with Yoga.
Level 2: Some experience is preferable but if a level 2 class is the only one that fits your schedule, please join in. We are committed to making sure you get off to a good start with Yoga. These classes accommodate a variety of yoga experience. Your teacher will gear the class to the majority of the students but will offer variations and modifications to accommodate students with less experience. More experienced students will learn to refine basic asanas, explore deeper poses, and practice in a way that encourages a fuller integration of the principles of alignment into the poses that are practiced.
Level 3: Minimum of one year of experience requested. The level 3 classes are designed for ongoing practitioners who are ready to deepen. Level 3 classes will refine your practice of asanas; cultivate a keener understanding of both physical and subtle body anatomy; encourage deeper integration of alignment principles; and incorporate both pranayama and meditation. Ideal for those who have completed an Immersion.
SLIDING SCALE
We are happy to offer a sliding scale as way for everyone to do Yoga. Our sliding scale option is $8 – $15 per class. There is not a sliding scale option available for class cards. Each time you come to class, simply pay the amount you are able. Let your teacher know the amount so she can do her books. Pay an amount that makes it possible for you to continue Yoga while at the same time keeping in mind that the teachers need to be paid for their good work and we need to keep the studio open and in business.
